Course Overview

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Industrial Design at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) provides students with comprehensive skills in product design, ergonomics, and sustainable design, preparing graduates for careers as industrial designers, product designers, and furniture designers.

Program Structure

Year 1: Fundamentals of industrial design, including drawing, creative thinking, project management, design process, and model making.
Year 2: Advanced 3D modeling skills, focusing on form and conceptual design, ergonomics, manufacturing processes, and sustainable design.
Internship: 16-week industrial training to bridge academic learning with real-world experience.
Year 3: Application of knowledge through a high-quality final year project, with opportunities to specialize in areas such as product design, transport design, furniture design, or sustainable design.

Entry Requirements

STPM: A Pass with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in any 2 subjects and a Credit in Bahasa Melayu and a Pass in English at SPM level.
A-Level: 2 Passes (Grade A-D) with a Pass in English at SPM/O-Level/IGCSE or its equivalent.
UEC: 5 Grade B’s.
Matriculation/Foundation: A Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.
English Language Requirement: IELTS 5.0, TOEFL IBT 40, Pearson (PTE) 47, or MUET Band 3.5.
Portfolio submission or interview as part of the application process.
