Course Overview

The Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering with Honours at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) equips students with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computer engineering principles. This program prepares graduates for dynamic roles such as Automation Engineer, Mechatronic Engineer, and Robotics Engineer, among others.

Program Structure

Year 1: Introduction to fundamental engineering principles, including Circuit Analysis, Engineering Materials, Instrumentation & Measurement, and Engineering Design. Development of essential academic skills and grounding in IT and entrepreneurship.
Year 2: Specialization in Mechatronic Engineering with modules such as Analogue Electronics, Digital Electronics, Introduction to Electrical Systems, Electromagnetic Field Theory, and Sensors & Actuators.
Year 3: Advanced topics including Control Engineering, Communication Engineering Principles, Microprocessor Systems & Embedded Software, Industrial Automation, and Robotics Technology. Emphasis on critical thinking and independent learning.
Year 4: Focus on industry application and technological skills through modules like CAD/CAM, Group Design Projects, and a final-year project. Enhancement of personal and professional development, technical capability, and innovation management.

Entry Requirements

STPM: 2 Passes with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.0) in Mathematics and Physics (or Chemistry), and a Credit in Mathematics and Physics (or Chemistry) at SPM Level or its equivalent.
A-Level: 2 Passes (Grade A-D) including Mathematics and Physics (or Chemistry).
UEC: 5 Grade B’s, including Mathematics and Physics (or Chemistry).
Matriculation/Foundation: Passed the relevant Foundation programme (minimum CGPA of 2.0) with a Credit in Mathematics and Physics (or Chemistry) at SPM/O-Level/IGCSE or equivalent.
Diploma: Successful completion of the APU/APIIT Engineering Diploma or a Diploma in Engineering from other recognized institutions, subject to credit transfer approval.
English Language Requirements: IELTS: 5.0; TOEFL IBT: 40; Pearson (PTE): 47; MUET: Band 3.5.
