Course Overview

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Actuarial Studies with a specialism in Data Analytics at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) equips students with mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills, preparing graduates for roles such as actuary, data analyst, and risk analyst.

Program Structure

Level 1: Fundamentals of Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business, Communication, and IT skills.
Level 2: Advanced Mathematics and Statistics applied to Economics and Finance, with specialism modules in Programming for Data Analytics and Operational Research and Analytics.
Internship: 16-week industrial training to transition from classroom to working environment.
Level 3: Application of knowledge and experience in risk planning, management, and analysis, including specialism modules in Behavioural Science & Marketing Analytics and Advanced Predictive Analytics.

Entry Requirements

STPM: 2 Passes with a minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.33) and a Credit in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM Level or equivalent.
A-Level: 2 Passes (Grade A-D) in any 2 subjects, and a Credit in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM/O-Level/IGCSE or equivalent.
UEC: 5 Grade B’s including Mathematics with a Pass in English.
Matriculation/Foundation: Passed Foundation programme (minimum CGPA of 2.5) with a Credit in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM/O-Level/IGCSE or equivalent.
English Requirements for International Students: IELTS: 6.0; TOEFL IBT: 60; Pearson (PTE): 59; MUET: Band 4.
