The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Actuarial Studies with a specialism in Financial Technology at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) equips students with mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills, preparing graduates for roles such as actuary, FinTech specialist, and data analyst.
Program Structure
- Level 1: Fundamentals of Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business, Communication, and IT skills.
- Level 2: Advanced actuarial tools integrating Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, and Finance, with specialism modules in Financial Technology, Enabling FinTech, and Application of AI in Finance.
- Internship: 16-week industrial training to transition from classroom to working environment.
- Level 3: Application of acquired skills in risk analysis and financial performance evaluation, including a specialism module in FinTech Risk Management and Regulations.
Entry Requirements
- STPM: 2 Passes with a minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.33) and a Credit in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM Level or its equivalent.
- A-Level: 2 Passes (Grade A-D) in any 2 subjects, and a Credit in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM/O-Level/IGCSE or its equivalent.
- UEC: 5 Grade B's in any subjects including Mathematics with a Pass in English.
- Matriculation/Foundation: Passed Foundation programme (minimum CGPA of 2.5) with a Credit in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM/O-Level/IGCSE or equivalent.
- English Requirements for International Students: IELTS: 5.0; TOEFL IBT: 40; Pearson (PTE): 47; MUET: Band 3.5.
