Course Overview

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Hospitality and Tourism at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) equips students with practical and technical expertise in the global hospitality and tourism industry. Graduates are prepared for diverse roles such as hotel/resort manager, event planner, travel consultant, and restaurant manager.

Program Structure

Year 1: Introduction to global hospitality and tourism industry, computer applications, business and communication skills, digital thinking and innovation, basic statistics, fundamentals of entrepreneurship, fundamentals of accounting, business events management, cultural heritage management, and human resource management.
Year 2: International cuisine, food and beverage service, front office operations, housekeeping operations, business research methods, customer service management, legal aspects in hospitality and tourism, marketing, ticketing and computer reservation systems, and tourism economics.
Year 3: Managing travel and tour services, services management, project in global hospitality and tourism management, and current issues in the tourism industry. Students can specialize in areas such as hospitality innovation, food science and technology, events management and technology, tourism logistics, or halal tourism.
Internship: A 24-week industrial training to prepare students for the global working environment.

Entry Requirements

STPM: A pass with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any two subjects, or its equivalent.
STAM: A pass with a minimum grade of Jayyid or its equivalent.
Matriculation/Foundation: A minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent.
Diploma: A Diploma (Level 4 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent.
English Requirements for International Students: IELTS: 5.0; MUET: Band 3.5.
