Course Overview

The Diploma in Events Management at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) equips students with essential skills in event planning, logistics, customer service, and digital marketing, preparing graduates for dynamic roles in the events industry.

Program Structure

Semester 1: Introduction to event management concepts, computer applications, business English communication, digital thinking and innovation, and an overview of the hospitality and tourism industry.
Semester 2: Advanced event planning and design, event logistics, customer service, graphics design for events, and exploration of culture and heritage.
Semester 3: Focus on support services for events and introduction to statistics.
Semester 4: In-depth study of event sponsorship and funding, and business events management.
Semester 5: Exposure to entrepreneurship fundamentals, accounting, digital marketing for hospitality and events, public relations, and human resource management.
Internship: A 20-week industrial training to bridge academic learning with real-world experience.

Entry Requirements

SPM: 3 Credits in at least 3 subjects, with a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History).
IGCSE/O-Levels: 3 Credits (Grade C & above) in at least 3 subjects.
UEC: 3 Credits (Grade B & above) in at least 3 subjects.
Certificate: Pass relevant Certificate Programme or its equivalent.
English Requirements for International Students: IELTS: 4.0; TOEFL IBT: 30-31; Pearson (PTE): 36; MUET: Band 3.
