Course Overview

The Diploma in Hotel Management at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) equips students with comprehensive skills in hotel operations, customer service, and event management, preparing graduates for roles such as hotel manager, front office supervisor, and event coordinator.

Program Structure

Semester 1: Introduction to hospitality and tourism industry, culinary essentials, computer applications, business English communication, digital thinking and innovation.
Semester 2: International cuisine, food and beverage operations, customer service, pastry and bakery skills, culture and heritage.
Semester 3: Front office operations, introduction to statistics.
Semester 4: Housekeeping operations, business events management.
Semester 5: Introduction to accounting, fundamentals of entrepreneurship, digital marketing for hospitality and events business, public relations for hospitality and events, human resource management for hospitality and events.
Semester 6: 20-week internship/industrial training.

Entry Requirements

SPM: Minimum of 3 credits in at least 3 subjects, with a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History).
IGCSE/O-Levels: Minimum of 3 credits (Grade C & above) in at least 3 subjects.
UEC: Minimum of 3 credits (Grade B & above) in at least 3 subjects.
Certificate: Pass in a relevant Certificate Programme or its equivalent.
English Requirements for International Students: IELTS 4.0, TOEFL IBT 30-31, Pearson (PTE) 36, or MUET Band 3.
