Course Overview
The Bachelor of Engineering Management (Hons) at City University Malaysia integrates engineering principles with business and resource-based management, equipping students with skills in entrepreneurial leadership, new business ventures, and small-to-medium enterprises. Graduates are prepared for roles such as Senior Product Manager, Engineering Department Manager, Engineering and Technology Manager, Senior Engineering Consultant, and R&D Manager.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses including Academic Skills, English for Academic Purposes, Principles of Finance, Principles of Microeconomics, Business Communication, Engineering Drawing, Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Marketing, Principles of Management, Introduction to Business, Introduction to Accounting, and Introduction to Occupational Safety and Health.
- Year 2: Intermediate courses such as Business Statistics, Operations Management, Introduction to Business Computing, Construction Engineering, Engineering Law, Environmental Management, Management Accounting, Computer-Aided Design, Human Resources Management, Organizational Behaviour, Financial Management, Business Mathematics, Ethics in Business, Manufacturing Processes, and Mechanical Engineering.
- Year 3: Advanced courses including Final Year Project, Evaluation and Contracts, Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Management, Transportation Economics, Statistics and Probability, Strategic Management, Business Research Methods, Engineering Project Management, and Industrial Training.
Entry Requirements
- STPM: Minimum Grade C (GPA 2.0) in two subjects.
- UEC: Minimum of 5 B’s including requisite subjects.
- STAM: Minimum grade of Jayyid.
- Matriculation/Foundation: Minimum CGPA of 2.0 in relevant fields as recognized by the MOHE or its equivalent.
- Diploma: Minimum CGPA of 2.0 in relevant field or its equivalent.
- A-Levels: Grade D in two subjects or its equivalent.
- 12 years of schooling: Passed the exit qualification in the country of origin including requisite subjects.
- All above qualifications must be supported with credit in Mathematics and English subjects at SPM level. The requirements can be waived should the qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with equivalent/higher achievement.
- For International Students: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
