The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours at Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) provides students with comprehensive knowledge in materials science, statics and dynamics, solid and fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, control engineering, industrial engineering, instrumentation, and design. Graduates are well-prepared for diverse roles in industries such as aerospace, automotive, construction, and manufacturing.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses including Engineering Drawing I, Engineering Mathematics I, Engineering Workshop, Introduction to Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, and Statics.
- Year 2: Intermediate topics such as Dynamics, Electrical Technology, Engineering Drawing II (Computer-Aided), Fluid Mechanics I, Solid Mechanics I, and Thermodynamics I.
- Year 3: Advanced subjects including Component Design, Control Engineering, Fluid Mechanics II, Manufacturing Processes, Mechanics of Machines & Vibration, and Thermodynamics II, along with Industrial Training.
- Year 4: Specialization through electives like Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning, Vibration & Vibration Measurements, Acoustics & Noise, Control & Measurements, Material Processing, Material Selection, NanoMaterials, Production Planning & Control, and Robotics, culminating in a Thesis Project.
Entry Requirements
- STPM: Minimum 2 Principal Passes (including Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry) and Band 2 MUET.
- A-Level: Minimum 2 Principal Passes (including Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry).
- UEC: Minimum 5Bs (including Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry).
- Diploma/HND: Minimum CGPA of 2.00.
- Foundation/Matriculation: Minimum CGPA of 2.00 and Band 2 MUET.
- International qualifications: Equivalent to the above, with English language proficiency requirements such as TOEFL (PBT) score of 410, TOEFL (IBT) score of 42, IELTS score of 5.0, Pearson Test in English (Academic) score of 47, or Cambridge Placement Test (CEPT) score of 154.
