Course Overview

The Diploma in Automotive Engineering at Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) provides students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, braking systems, and electrical and electronic components. Graduates are well-prepared for roles such as assistant engineers, technicians, and supervisors in the automotive maintenance and manufacturing sectors.

Program Structure

Year 1: Fundamental courses covering automotive engines, workshop technology, chemistry, circuit theory, engineering drawing, hydraulics and pneumatics, mathematics, physics, science laboratory, statics, technical English, and co-curricular activities.
Year 2: Intermediate courses focusing on automotive braking systems, electrical and electronics, fuel system dynamics, ignition systems, transmission systems, advanced mathematics, strength and machine laboratory, strength of materials, thermofluid, and thermofluid laboratory.
Year 3: Advanced courses including automotive comfort and safety systems, final year project, suspension and steering systems, and workshop management and administration.

Entry Requirements

SPM/SPMV: Minimum 3 Cs, including Mathematics and a Science/Technical/Vocational subject, and a pass in English.
O-Level: Minimum 3 Cs, including Mathematics and a Science/Technical/Vocational subject, and a pass in English.
UEC: Minimum 3 Bs, including Mathematics and a Science/Technical/Vocational subject, and a pass in English.
Certificate Level 3 MQF: Minimum CGPA of 2.00.
Certificate/SKM III (Technical & Vocational): Minimum CGPA of 2.00, with 1 year of experience in a related field or 1 semester of an enhancement programme, and a pass in SPM with at least one credit in any subject.
Other Qualifications: As recognised by the Senate of IUKL as equivalent to SPM.
