Course Overview
The Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at Lincoln University College is a comprehensive five-year course designed to equip students with essential medical knowledge, clinical competencies, and professional values. Graduates are prepared for diverse roles in the healthcare sector, including positions as general practitioners, specialists in fields such as surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and roles in medical research and education.
Program Structure
- Phase 1 (Years 1 & 2): Basic Medical Sciences covering subjects like Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, and Immunology.
- Phase 2 (Years 3 to 5): Clinical Training with rotations in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry, Family Medicine, and Community Medicine.
Entry Requirements
- STPM: Grades BBA, ABC, or AAC in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
- A-Level: Grades BBB, ABC, or AAC in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
- Matriculation/Foundation in Science/Pre-Medical Course: CGPA 3.0 in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics, with a minimum of 5 Bs at SPM level in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Additional Mathematics, and another subject.
- UEC: B4 in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Additional Mathematics.
- International Baccalaureate (IB): 30 points with a minimum of 2 science subjects or Mathematics at Higher Level (HL) and 1 science subject at Standard Level (SL), with a minimum score of 4 in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
- Diploma in Health Sciences: CGPA 3.5, provided the course is not less than 5 semesters or 2½ years in the same accredited institution, with a minimum of 2 Bs in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and 3 credits in English, Mathematics or Additional Mathematics, and another subject at SPM level.
- Degree in Health or Pure/Applied Sciences: CGPA 3.0 for a 5-year program; CGPA 3.3 for a 4-year graduate entry program.
- Degree in Arts or Humanities: CGPA 3.5 for a 5-year program; CGPA 3.75 for a 4-year graduate entry program.
- English Proficiency: International students must have an IELTS score of 6.0 or its equivalent. If this requirement is not met, English proficiency courses will be offered to ensure sufficient language skills for the program.
