The Doctor of Philosophy in Physiotherapy at Lincoln University College focuses on the science of physical rehabilitation, preparing candidates to diagnose and treat physical conditions, conduct innovative research, and educate future physiotherapists. Graduates are equipped for roles such as Consultant Clinical Physiotherapist, Clinical Researcher, Higher Education Lecturer, Medical and Health Service Manager, and Independent Researcher and Teacher.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Coursework including Research Methodology and Computer Applications
- Year 2: Specialized studies in areas such as Musculoskeletal, Cardiorespiratory, Neurology, and Sports Physiotherapy
- Year 3: Thesis research and publication of findings
Entry Requirements
- A Master’s Degree (Level 7 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in Physiotherapy or related fields accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate
- Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s Degree (Level 7, MQF) recognized by the Government of Malaysia
- Candidates without a related qualification or relevant work experience must undergo prerequisite courses determined by the university
- Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) candidates registered for a Master’s Degree (Level 7, MQF) may apply to convert to the Doctoral Degree program within one year for full-time and two years for part-time candidates, subject to internal evaluation and Senate approval
- For international students: TOEFL score of 500 or IELTS score of 5.0, or equivalent
