MAHSA University is the abbreviation of Malaysia United Health Sciences Research Institute, founded in 2004 by Professor Tan Sri Dr. Hj. Mohamed Haniffa (Mohamed Haniffa) the Prime Minister and the Executive Chairman of MAHSA Group. Professor Haniffa is a medical clinician. His vision involves the establishment of outstanding academic excellence in the fields of medicine, biological sciences, dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences, nursing, business, finance, hotel management, information technology, and engineering in Southeast Asia. Entering the second decade of the 21st century, MAHSA University envisions leading research and innovation in its field of expertise, which is driven by the needs and capabilities of IR4.0, as indicated by the results of its past research programs.

Course Overview
The Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) Public Health at MAHSA University is designed for registered nurses aiming to specialize in public health. This program equips students with advanced skills in obstetrics, gynecology, family health, and primary healthcare, preparing graduates for roles such as Public Health Nurse, Clinical Instructor, and Health Educator.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Anatomy and Physiology of the Reproductive System, Nutrition, Family Health, Clinical Practice, and Malaysian Studies.
- Year 2: Public Health Nursing, Epidemiology, Research Methodology, Environmental and Occupational Health, and Clinical Practice.
- Year 3: Counseling, Population with Special Needs, Research Project, Health Information Management, Leadership in Public Health Nursing, and Clinical Practice.
Entry Requirements
- Diploma Holders: Diploma in Nursing or equivalent, minimum three months of public health experience, Post Basic in Midwifery or Public Health Nursing, registration with the Nursing Board Malaysia, and a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
- International Applicants: Diploma in Nursing or equivalent, registration with the Nursing Council or Board of the country of origin, Post Basic in Public Health Nursing or Midwifery (subject to university approval), and a Temporary Practicing Certificate (TPC) from the Nursing Board Malaysia before clinical placement.
- English Proficiency: IELTS score of 5.5, TOEFL score of 550, or evidence of English as the medium of instruction.
