MAHSA University is the abbreviation of Malaysia United Health Sciences Research Institute, founded in 2004 by Professor Tan Sri Dr. Hj. Mohamed Haniffa (Mohamed Haniffa) the Prime Minister and the Executive Chairman of MAHSA Group. Professor Haniffa is a medical clinician. His vision involves the establishment of outstanding academic excellence in the fields of medicine, biological sciences, dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences, nursing, business, finance, hotel management, information technology, and engineering in Southeast Asia. Entering the second decade of the 21st century, MAHSA University envisions leading research and innovation in its field of expertise, which is driven by the needs and capabilities of IR4.0, as indicated by the results of its past research programs.

Course Overview
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Pharmaceuticals Technology at MAHSA University provides students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in drug discovery, development, and manufacturing processes. Graduates are well-prepared for careers as industrial pharmaceutical technologists, formulation design and development scientists, research and development officers, and quality control and assurance officers.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Introduction to physiology, physical pharmacy, chemistry, scientific basis of therapeutics, biochemistry, pharmaceutical engineering, dosage form design, medicinal chemistry, veterinary pharmacy, and principles of laboratory animal sciences.
- Year 2: Advanced pharmaceutical engineering, dosage form design, pharmaceutical microbiology, personal and professional development, immunology, analytical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, phytopharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical biotechnology, pharmaceutical calculations and biostatistics, biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical quality assurance, radiopharmacy, and analytical chemistry.
- Year 3: Drug delivery systems, cosmetics and cosmeceuticals, pharmacotoxicology, pharmaceutical regulatory control, research methodology, industrial attachment and research project, complementary medicine, drugs in sports and lifestyle drugs, principles of marketing, computer-aided drug development systems, pharmaceutical management, and pharmacoinformatics.
Entry Requirements
- STPM/SPM: Pass STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.33) in any two subjects, or its equivalent, and possess SPM with three credits in Mathematics, one science subject, and one other subject, or its equivalent.
- STAM: Pass STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid, or its equivalent, and possess SPM with three credits in Mathematics, one science subject, and one other subject, or its equivalent.
- Matriculation/Foundation: Minimum CGPA of 2.33, or its equivalent, and possess SPM with three credits in Mathematics, one science subject, and one other subject, or its equivalent.
- Diploma: Level 4, MQF in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75, or its equivalent. (Note: The credit requirement at SPM level for candidates in categories (i), (ii), and (iii) can be waived should the grades obtained at the STPM/STAM/Diploma/Matriculation/Foundation level be equivalent or higher.)
- South Australian Matriculation: Score 14 in three subjects, including Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology/Physics.
- New Zealand Bursary: Aggregate 65% for three subjects, including Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology/Physics.
- Canadian Pre-University (CPU)/Canadian International Matriculation Programme (CIMP)/Monash University Foundation Pre-University Programme (MUFY)/Western Australian Curriculum Council/Trinity College Foundation Studies/Higher School Certificate - Sydney Australia: Aggregate 60% for three science subjects, including Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology/Physics.
- University of New South Wales Foundation: Pass with three Principal D grades for three subjects, including Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology/Physics.
- Indian Pre-University: 75% aggregate for three subjects, including Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology/Physics.
- American High School Diploma with Advanced Placement (AP): CGPA 2.0 for three subjects, including Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology/Physics.
- English Requirement: MUET Band 3 or IELTS 5.5.
