Course Overview

The Doctor in Restorative Dentistry (DrResDent) at MAHSA University is a three-year clinical coursework program that integrates prosthodontics, endodontics, and periodontics. This comprehensive training equips graduates with the skills to provide holistic patient care and prepares them for roles as specialists in restorative dentistry within the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Education, and private dental clinics.

Program Structure

  • Year 1: Restorative Dentistry 1 and initiation of Research Project
  • Year 2: Restorative Dentistry 2 and continuation of Research Project
  • Year 3: Restorative Dentistry 3 and completion of Research Project

Entry Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry or its equivalent
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience post-graduation
  • Master’s Degree: Master of Orofacial Sciences with elective in Restorative Dentistry or equivalent coursework master's program
  • Professional Registration: Registered with the Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) or eligible for a Temporary Practising Certificate (TPC) if registered with a dental regulatory body in another country
  • English Proficiency (for international students): MUET: Band 4; IELTS: 6.0; TOEFL: 550
