MAHSA University is the abbreviation of Malaysia United Health Sciences Research Institute, founded in 2004 by Professor Tan Sri Dr. Hj. Mohamed Haniffa (Mohamed Haniffa) the Prime Minister and the Executive Chairman of MAHSA Group. Professor Haniffa is a medical clinician. His vision involves the establishment of outstanding academic excellence in the fields of medicine, biological sciences, dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences, nursing, business, finance, hotel management, information technology, and engineering in Southeast Asia. Entering the second decade of the 21st century, MAHSA University envisions leading research and innovation in its field of expertise, which is driven by the needs and capabilities of IR4.0, as indicated by the results of its past research programs.

Course Overview
The Master of Orofacial Sciences at MAHSA University is a comprehensive one-year program designed to enhance the skills of dental practitioners in specialized areas such as Restorative Dentistry, Periodontology, and Orthodontics. This program serves as a prerequisite for the Doctorate program, aligning with the Malaysian Dental Act 2018, and prepares graduates for advanced roles in dental specialization.
Program Structure
- Applied Medical and Dental Sciences: In-depth study of medical and dental sciences relevant to orofacial health.
- Research Methodology: Training in research design, data analysis, and scientific writing.
- Community Dental Practice: Exploration of public health dentistry and community engagement.
- Research Project: Execution of a minor research study culminating in a mini-dissertation or scientific report.
- Specialization Module: Focused training in one of the following disciplines:
- Restorative Dentistry
- Periodontology
- Orthodontics
Entry Requirements
- Academic Qualification: Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from a recognized institution.
- Professional Registration: Registration with the Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC), or eligibility for a Temporary Practising Certificate (TPC) if registered with a dental regulatory body in another country.
- Health Requirements: Compliance with health standards as stipulated by the Higher Education Provider (HEP).
