Course Overview

The Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons.) (Artificial Intelligence) at Multimedia University (MMU) equips students with comprehensive skills in machine learning, data analytics, and computational intelligence, preparing graduates for roles such as AI specialist, data scientist, and machine learning engineer.

Program Structure

  • Year 1: Foundational courses including Mathematical Techniques, Computer Programming, Database Systems, Operating Systems, Discrete Mathematics and Probability, Computer Architecture and Organisation, Data Communications and Networking, and Ethics and Professional Conducts.
  • Year 2: Intermediate topics such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, System Analysis and Design, Technopreneur Venture, Human-Computer Interaction, Machine Learning, Software Engineering Fundamentals, Web Techniques and Application, Pattern Recognition, Industrial Training, Programming Language Concept, and Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals.
  • Year 3: Advanced subjects including Project, Computational Intelligence, Computer Networks, Expert Systems, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Algorithm Design and Analysis, Semantic Web Technology, and elective courses.

Entry Requirements

  • Pass Foundation/Matriculation studies from a recognised institution with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, and a credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
  • Pass STPM in Science Stream or its equivalent with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in Mathematics and one Science/ICT subject; OR
  • Pass A-Level with a minimum Grade D in Mathematics and one Science/ICT subject; OR
  • Pass UEC with a minimum Grade B in at least five (5) subjects, including Mathematics, English, and one Science/ICT subject; OR
  • Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process; OR
  • Pass DKM/DLKM/DVM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 must have at least two (2) years of work experience in the related field.
