Course Overview
The Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons.) (Advertising Design) at Multimedia University (MMU) is a comprehensive three-year program designed to cultivate creative advertising professionals. Students develop expertise in persuasive communication, branding, advertising strategy, and multimedia applications, preparing them for dynamic roles such as Art Director, Designer, and Manager in various sectors including advertising agencies, design houses, and production companies.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses including Advertising Design 1 & 2, Web Design, Environmental Design, Media Culture, Video Production, Media Aesthetics, 3D Modelling and Printing, Internet and Mobile Application, and Mobile App Design and Development.
- Year 2: Intermediate studies covering Advertising Design 3 & 4, Audio Visual for Advertising, E-marketing, Multimodal Interaction Design, Semiotic Studies, Sound Design 1, Media Anthropology, Integrated Marketing Communication, Video Production for Advertising, and an Internship program.
- Year 3: Advanced topics such as Advertising Design Project 1 & 2, Interactive Technology for Advertising, Design Research, Sound Design 2, Media Law, and elective modules including Corporate Identity, Diagram Design, Project Management, and Motion Capture.
Entry Requirements
- Pass Foundation/Matriculation studies in a related field from a recognized institution.
- Pass STPM or its equivalent with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects.
- Pass A-Level with a minimum of Grade D in any two (2) subjects.
- Pass UEC with a minimum of Grade B in at least five (5) subjects inclusive of English.
- Recognized Creative Multimedia Diploma or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process.
- Pass DKM/DLKM/DVM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 must have at least two (2) years of work experience in the related field. DKM/DLKM/DVM candidates may be required to undergo a Bridging Programme as an additional requirement.

- Pass an interview or submission of a student’s portfolio, to be determined by MMU as required.
