Course Overview

The Diploma in 3D Modelling and Animation at Multimedia University (MMU) is a two-and-a-half-year program designed to equip students with comprehensive skills in 3D animation, digital photography, and motion graphics. Graduates are prepared for dynamic roles such as 3D Animator, Storyboard Artist, and Graphic Designer.

Program Structure

Year 1: Courses include 3D Modelling, Internet Applications, Drawing Fundamentals, Computer Graphics 1, 3D Dynamics, Animation Foundation, Motion Graphics Application, Digital Photography, Design Fundamentals, Computer Graphics 2, and 3D Animation.
Year 2: Courses include Animation Design 1, Digital Sound Production, Video Production Process, Digital Storyboarding, Design Appreciation, Animation Design 2, 3D Character Setup, Motion Capture, 3D Rendering & Compositing, Industrial Training, and 3D Modelling & Animation Project.
Electives: Options include Project Management, Introduction to 3D Printing, Introduction to Game Programming, Introduction to Computer Application, Creative Thinking, and E-commerce.
University Subjects: Courses include Pengajian Malaysia (Local), Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi 1 (International), Basic Academic Writing, Personal Social Responsibility, and Family and Society in Malaysia.

Entry Requirements

Pass SPM/O-Level or its equivalent with a minimum of Grade C in at least three (3) subjects.
Pass UEC with a minimum of Grade B in at least three (3) subjects.
Pass STPM or its equivalent with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in at least one (1) subject.
Pass STAM with Grade Maqbul (Pass).
Recognized Creative Multimedia Certificate or its equivalent.
Recognized related Technical and Vocational Certificate or its equivalent with one (1) year relevant work experience or one (1) semester bridging programme.
Pass SKM Level 3 or any qualifications equivalent to Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field AND Pass SPM with a minimum of 1 Credit in any subject.
