Course Overview

The BA (Hons) Early Years Education (3+0) program at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the University of Greenwich, UK, equips students with essential skills in child development, health and wellbeing, and educational leadership. Graduates are prepared for roles such as early years educator, childcare center manager, and community education officer.

Program Structure

Year 1: Foundational courses including Understanding and Managing Children’s Behaviour, Children as Confident Learners, and Introduction to Health and Wellbeing from Conception to Young Adulthood. Students also engage in Workplace Experience 1.
Year 2: Intermediate studies covering Social Policy and Social Pedagogies, The Young Mathematician, and Supporting the Social Well-being of Children and their Families. This year includes Workplace Experience 2 and elective options.
Year 3: Advanced topics such as Child Development and Learning: Birth to Eight Years, Leading and Managing in Early Years, and Curriculum and Assessment in Early Years. Students undertake Workplace Experience 3 and a workplace project.
