Course Overview

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) – Double Award in Computer Networking at SEGi University, in collaboration with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), provides students with comprehensive skills in computer networking, systems analysis, and information security. Graduates are well-prepared for roles such as Network Engineer, Systems Analyst, and IT Security Specialist.

Program Structure

Year 1: Foundational courses including Discrete Mathematics, Introductory Programming, Systems Analysis and Design, Database Systems, Introduction to Networks, Object-Oriented Programming, Introduction to Operating Systems, Introduction to IoT, Web Project, Cyber Marketing, and Environmental Management and Technology.
Year 2: Intermediate topics such as Academic Research, Windows Programming, Personal Health Management, Mobile Application Development, Data Science, and Entrepreneurship.
Year 3: Advanced subjects including Final Year Project 1 & 2, Project Management, Human Computer Interaction, Industrial Attachment, Advanced Database Systems, Computer Architecture, Big Data Analysis, and Data Mining.

Entry Requirements

Pass in Matriculation or Foundation studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
Pass in STPM or its equivalent with a minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.0) in any 2 subjects and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Information Systems with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
Other relevant Diplomas in Science and Technology or Business Studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 may be admitted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment process, and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
Pass in A-Level with 2 subjects and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level.
Pass in New South Wales Higher Certificate with Grade C in 2 subjects, one in Mathematics.
South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) with 2 passes and Grade C in Mathematics.
Pass in 2 subjects in Canadian Pre-U (CPU) / Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) including Mathematics.
Pass in International Baccalaureate with at least a score of 24.
Pass in Diploma in Information Technology or Diploma in Computer Studies from any Higher Institutions Provider recognized by the Malaysian Government.
Pass in a related field Diploma by Higher Institutions Provider recognized by the Malaysian Government.
Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.
For international students: IELTS with a minimum score of 5.0 or equivalent.
