The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours at SEGi University in Kota Damansara provides a comprehensive, industry-driven education, equipping students with essential technical skills and a strong foundation in engineering fundamentals. Graduates are prepared for diverse roles in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and renewable energy.

Program Structure

Year 1: Engineering Mathematics, Fundamental Engineering Mechanics, Design Basics, Engineering Materials, Laboratory Investigations, Programming in C++, Advanced Drawing Techniques, Thermodynamics.
Year 2: Engineering Statistics, Electrical and Electronic Circuits, Manufacturing Processes, Fluid Mechanics, Solid Mechanics, Computational and Numerical Analysis, Measurement and Instrumentation, Design of Machine Elements, Heat Transfer, Vibrations.
Year 3: Manufacturing Systems Design, Advanced Fluid and Solid Mechanics, Integrated Design Projects, Entrepreneurship, Engineers and Society, Advanced Thermodynamics and Materials, Electrical Machines, Industrial Training (12 weeks).
Year 4: Final Year Projects, Project Management, Safety and Risk Engineering, Finite Element Analysis, Electives such as Thermal Management in Product Design, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Control and System Engineering, Environmental Management and Technology, HVAC, Advanced Manufacturing Technology.

Entry Requirements

STPM: 2 principal passes including Mathematics and one relevant Natural Science subject (Physics preferred).
A-Level: 2 principal passes including Mathematics and one relevant Natural Science subject.
UEC: 5 Bs including Mathematics and one relevant Natural Science subject.
Foundation Studies in Sciences or Engineering: CGPA of at least 2.00 from a recognized institution.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field: Minimum CGPA of 2.0 from a recognized institution.
International qualifications: Equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.
English proficiency for international students: TOEFL score of at least 500 or IELTS score of at least 5.0.
