The Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) - Work-based Learning at Taylor's University combines comprehensive theoretical knowledge with practical industry experience, equipping students with skills in algorithms, programming languages, data structures, computer networks, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. Graduates are prepared for roles such as Applications Developer, Database Designer, IT Consultant, Network Engineer, Programmer, Software Developer, Software Engineer, Systems Analyst, Systems Developer, and Technical Support Engineer.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses including Database Systems, Computer Architecture and Organisation, Object-Oriented Programming, Discrete Structures, Principles of Software Engineering, Systems Fundamentals, Data Structures and Algorithms, Operating Systems and Computer Networks, and Advanced Programming.
- Year 2: Advanced topics such as Theory of Computation, Machine Learning and Parallel Computing, Ideating Start-up, and specialisation modules.
- Year 3: Work-based learning with industry partners, including modules like Human Computer Interaction, Professional Practices and Information Security, Industrial Project I, and Industrial Project II.
Entry Requirements
- Pass SPM/O-level or equivalent with 5 credits, including Additional Mathematics, for entry with pre-university/foundation qualification (except for UEC).
