The Bachelor of Mass Communication (Honours) in Public Relations and Marketing at Taylor's University equips students with skills in digital marketing, effective marketing communication, and social media market strategies, preparing graduates for roles such as Public Relations Practitioner, Marketing Executive, and Social Media Strategist.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses including Introduction to Mass Communication, Visual Communication, Intercultural Communication, Communication Theory, Innovative Media, Media Writing, Media Analytics, New Media and Society, and Media Law & Ethics.
- Year 2: Intermediate courses such as Public Relations Principles, Promotional Writing, Publicity and Media Relations, Crisis Management, Organisational Communication, Introduction to Management, Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Relationship Marketing, and Research Methods.
- Year 3: Advanced courses including Final Project, Research Project, Professional Media Workshop, Public Relations Consultancy, and a 3-month Internship.
Entry Requirements
- Prerequisites: Pass SPM/O-Level or equivalent with 5 credits including English for entry with pre-university/foundation qualification; or pass SPM/O-Level or equivalent with 3 credits including English for entry with Diploma qualification.
- Entry Pathway: Taylor’s Foundation in Arts (FIA) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; or Taylor’s Diploma in Communication (DICM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; or STPM with a minimum of CC; or UEC with a minimum of 5Bs including English; or A Level with a minimum of DD (2 subjects); or AUSMAT (SACEi) with a minimum ATAR of 55; or Canadian Pre-University (CPU) with a minimum average of 55% in 6 subjects; or International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of 24 points in 6 subjects; or Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) with 50%; or other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education with a minimum CGPA of 2.0.
- English Requirements: IELTS with a minimum band of 5.0; or TOEFL with a minimum score of 34 (Internet Based Test); or MUET with a minimum of Band 3; or UEC English with a minimum of B6; or Taylor's EET with an overall score of 5.0; or Taylor's IEN Level 2 with Grade C; or completion of Pre-University/Diploma conducted in English.
