Course Overview
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Architecture at Taylor's University is a pre-professional degree accredited by the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM), exempting graduates from the LAM Part I Examination. This program equips students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and technical expertise. Graduates are prepared for roles such as Architectural Model Specialist, Architectural Photographer, Architectural Structure Specialist, and Computer-Aided Design/3D Visualiser.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses including Architectural Design I & II, Architecture History and Theory, Design Communication, Asian Architecture, Building Construction and Materials, and Architecture and Environment.
- Year 2: Intermediate courses such as Architectural Design III & IV, Computer Applications, Building Services, and Building Structures.
- Year 3: Advanced courses including Architectural Design V, Advanced Architectural Construction, Architectural Design Project, and Architectural Project Management.
Entry Requirements
- Prerequisites: Pass in SPM/O-level or equivalent with 5 credits, including Mathematics. Pass an Interview and Aptitude Assessment.
- Foundation: Taylor's Foundation in Design or Foundation in Natural and Built Environments with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.
- Diploma: Taylor's Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.67.
- STPM: Minimum CGPA of 2.67 in 3 subjects.
- UEC: Pass with a minimum of 5Bs including Mathematics.
- A Level: Minimum CDD or equivalent of minimum 200 points excluding General Paper or studies in student's first language.
- AUSMAT (SACEi): Minimum ATAR 70.
- CPU: Minimum average of 65% in 6 subjects.
- IBDP: Minimum 28 points and above based on 6 subjects.
- MUFY: Overall 60%.
- Other Qualifications: Foundation or Diploma from other institutions recognized by the Malaysian Government with the required CGPA.
- English Requirements: IELTS Band 6.0, TOEFL 60 (Internet Based Test), MUET Band 4, or equivalent.
