The Business Studies with Beauty and Spa Management focuses on an industry that delivers valued services extending beyond personal grooming to include enhanced self-confidence, positive mental health, and overall wellbeing. The beauty and spa sector represents a significant component of the economy, providing employment opportunities nationally and internationally within a dynamic and constantly evolving industry characterised by strong client–practitioner relationships. The programme prepares graduates to meet the sector’s demand for highly skilled and trusted professionals capable of building strong client relationships, delivering services in a professional, efficient, and hygienic manner, and progressing to management roles within the industry. It integrates both the creative and business dimensions of beauty and spa management, enabling the development of technical expertise alongside essential business and managerial competencies. Teaching and learning take place in well-equipped workshops, encouraging the development of creativity while building strong commercial awareness and management skills. By combining technical beauty and spa practices with business knowledge, graduates are equipped to work and progress across a wide range of beauty and spa settings. The programme includes a full semester of work placement and/or the opportunity to study at partner universities across Europe, supported by regular field trips and guest lectures. In addition to degree assessments, students may also complete external professional examinations with the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) and the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC). The programme benefits from an academic partnership between TUS and the Irish Hospitality Institute (IHI). Students receive complimentary membership of the professional body during their studies, providing access to the wider IHI professional network, learning and development resources, and initiatives such as the Mentors Matter programme. Graduates also receive a further year of complimentary IHI membership, supporting ongoing professional development and career progression.
