The Business Studies with Beauty and Spa Management – BA (Hons) focuses on preparing graduates for careers in the dynamic beauty and spa sector, which provides valued services that contribute to clients’ self-confidence, mental health, and overall wellbeing. The sector is an important part of the economy, offering employment opportunities nationally and internationally, and continually evolves to meet changing customer needs. The programme develops highly skilled and trusted professionals capable of establishing strong client relationships, delivering services efficiently and hygienically, and progressing to management roles within the industry. The course integrates both creative and business aspects of the beauty and spa sector. Practical learning takes place in well-equipped workshops, allowing students to develop technical skills in beauty and spa services while acquiring essential business and management competencies. This combination equips graduates to work and advance across a wide range of beauty and spa settings. The programme includes a full semester of work placement and the option to study at partner universities across Europe, alongside regular field trips and guest lectures. Students may also complete external professional qualifications through the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) and the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC). The programme benefits from an academic partnership with the Irish Hospitality Institute (IHI), providing students with complimentary membership during their studies. Membership connects students with the wider IHI professional network, offering resources for learning, development, and early-stage career support, including the Mentors Matter programme. Graduates receive an additional year of complimentary IHI membership to support ongoing career progression and professional development.
