The BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying is a profession-focused programme at the forefront of construction economics and management. Developed in partnership with industry, the programme uniquely includes a 12-month work placement in Year 3, known as the ‘Active Learning Year,’ organised in collaboration with TUS and its industry partners. There is a consistent demand for quantity surveying services both in Ireland and internationally, as clients increasingly seek sustainable and economically efficient solutions in the built environment. Quantity surveyors are often engaged in diverse client support roles, offering strategic advice in areas such as economics, law, technology, capital allowances, and taxation, creating sustained demand for their specialist expertise. The programme is accredited by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI), the Chartered Institute of Building, and the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES). Graduates are well-positioned for careers in a variety of roles including 4-7D BIM Modeller, Capital Allowances Specialist, Commercial Manager, Construction Economist, Construction Scheduler, Contracts Manager, Cost Consultant, Cost Controller, Cost Engineer, Cost Planner, Estimator, Facilities Manager, Procurement, Project Manager, Purchasing/Buyer, and Quantity Surveyor (CQS/M&E/PQS).
