Course Overview

The BA (Hons) Hospitality Management (A Dual Award with HTMi Switzerland) at UCSI University's Kuching Campus equips students with comprehensive operational, supervisory, and managerial skills essential for the global hospitality industry. This program prepares graduates for diverse roles in hotels, resorts, food service establishments, and more.

Program Structure

Year 1: Foundational courses in food preparation, customer service, sanitation, safety and hygiene, business communication, and an introduction to the hospitality and tourism industry.
Year 2: Intermediate studies including commercial cookery, management principles, marketing, human resource management, hospitality law, and business research methods.
Year 3: Advanced topics such as tourism planning and development, leadership and business performance, event operation management, and hospitality revenue management.
Industry Placements: Two industry placements provide practical experience and industry exposure.

Entry Requirements

STPM: Minimum 2 principals (C) or minimum CGPA of 2.00.
A-Level: Minimum 2 principals (D).
UEC: Minimum 5 credits (B6).
International Baccalaureate (IB): Minimum score of 26 credits.
Foundation Year: Minimum CGPA of 2.0.
National Matriculation: Minimum CGPA of 2.0.
Other Year 12 equivalent qualifications: Minimum average score of 60%.
Diploma: Recognized diploma in a related field with minimum CGPA of 2.00.
English Language Requirements: MUET Band 3; SPM English Language Grade B+; IELTS Band 5.0; TOEFL iBT 42; or equivalent.
