Course Overview

The Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering with Honours at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur provides students with a comprehensive education in oil and gas exploration, production, and development. Program Structure

Year 1: Foundational courses including Statistics, Technical Communication, Mathematical Methods for Engineers I & II, Engineering Design and Drawing, Engineering Physics, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Material Engineering, and Material Engineering Laboratory.
Year 2: Intermediate courses such as Safety, Health and Environment, Programming for Engineers, Fluid Mechanics, Numerical Analysis, Physical Geology, Elements of Reservoir Rock and Fluid Properties, Thermodynamics, Thermofluid Laboratory, Numerical Analysis Laboratory, Petrophysics Laboratory, and Internship I.
Year 3: Advanced topics including Engineers in Society, Engineering Management and Economics, Reservoir Engineering I & II, Oil and Gas Production Operations, Well Completion, Drilling Engineering, Petroleum Geology, Petroleum Geology Laboratory, Drilling Engineering Laboratory, Fieldwork, and Internship II.
Year 4: Specialization courses such as Final Year Project A & B, Enhanced Oil Recovery, Natural Gas Engineering, Formation Evaluation, Reservoir Simulation, Petroleum Economy, Well Diagnosis and Treatment, Field Development Project I & II, and elective courses in streams like Advanced Oil Field Operation, Advanced Management in Energy Engineering, or Interdisciplinary subjects.

Entry Requirements

STPM: Minimum 2Cs including Mathematics and one relevant Physical Science subject.
A Level: Minimum 2Ds including Mathematics and one relevant Physical Science subject.
UEC: Minimum 5Bs including Mathematics and one relevant Physical Science subject.
International Baccalaureate: Minimum 26/42 points from 6 subjects, inclusive of Mathematics and one relevant Physical Science subject.
English Language Requirements: For local students, MUET Band 3.5; for international students, IELTS Band 5.0 or equivalent.
