Course Overview

The BComm (Hons) Marketing program at UCSI University's Kuching Campus equips students with comprehensive skills in marketing processes, consumer behavior, brand management, and business communication. Graduates are well-prepared for dynamic roles such as public relations consultant, marketing manager, corporate branding consultant, business development manager, sales manager, retail manager, and advertising and promotion manager.

Program Structure

  • Year 1: Fundamental courses including Business Law, Statistics and its Applications, Fundamentals of Management, Fundamentals of Marketing, Microeconomics, Organisational Behaviour, Introductory Accounting, Introduction to Marketing Communication, Business Communication, Macroeconomics, and Financial Management.
  • Year 2: Intermediate courses such as Business Mathematics, Sales Management, Human Resource Management, Internet in Practice, Direct Marketing, Marketing Processes, Management Science, Consumer Behaviour, Business Research Methods, Digital Marketing, Business Information Systems, Entrepreneurship, Retail Management, and Co-Operative Placement 1.
  • Year 3: Advanced courses including Marketing Research Project A, Marketing Promotion, Strategic Marketing, Marketing Research Project B, Strategic Management, Services Marketing, Current Issues in Marketing, and Co-Operative Placement 2.

Entry Requirements

  • Academic Qualifications:
    • UCSI Foundation Year: CGPA 2.0
    • STPM: 2 Principals (C) (CGPA 2.0) in 2 subjects and pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level
    • A-Level: Minimum 2 principals (D)
    • UEC: 5 credits (B6) and pass (C8) in Mathematics and English
    • International Baccalaureate (IB): Minimum score of 26/42 from 6 subjects
    • National Matriculation: CGPA 2.0
    • AUSMAT/HSC/SACE/TEE/WACE: ATAR score 60% or Minimum 60% average in 5 subjects
    • High School Certificate: Minimum average of 60%
    • High/Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12): Minimum average of 60% in 6 subjects
    • Canadian Pre-University (CPU)/Canadian International Matriculation (CIMP): Minimum average of 60% in 6 subjects
    • Diploma (business-related): Minimum CGPA of 2.0
    • Other equivalent qualifications: To be reviewed by the faculty on a case-to-case basis
  • English Language Requirements:
    • MUET: Band 3
    • SPM English Language: Grade B+
    • SPM English Language 1119/O-Level/IGCSE: Grade C
