Course Overview

The BSc (Hons) Aquatic Science at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur provides students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in aquatic biodiversity, environmental monitoring, and sustainable aquaculture. Graduates are well-prepared for careers as aquatic conservationists, marine biologists, and hydrologists.

Program Structure

Year 1: Foundational courses including Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Structural Biochemistry.
Year 2: Intermediate studies in Aquatic Biodiversity and Taxonomy, Ecology and Sustainability, and Aquaculture Operations.
Year 3: Advanced topics with specialization options in Aquatic Health and Management or Seafood Processing and Safety, alongside a research project.

Entry Requirements

UCSI Foundation in Science or equivalent: Minimum CGPA 2.00.
STPM: Minimum CGPA 2.00 with Grade Cs in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics/Mathematics.
A-levels: Minimum Grade D in any two of Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Mathematics.
UEC: Minimum Grade B in five subjects, including Chemistry, Biology, and Physics/Mathematics.
National Matriculation: Minimum CGPA 2.80, inclusive of Chemistry, Biology, and Physics/Mathematics.
International Baccalaureate (IB): Minimum score of 26/42 from six subjects, including Chemistry, Biology, and Physics/Mathematics.
Other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian government: Admission on a case-by-case basis.
