Course Overview

Program Structure

  • Year 1: Introduction to the tourism and hospitality industry, fundamentals of baking, hospitality and tourism communication, food hygiene and sanitation management, basic culinary skills, and an industry placement.
  • Year 2: Advanced studies in Malaysian pastries and desserts, fundamentals of marketing, torte and gateau, nutrition in the food service industry, artisan bread, food and beverage cost control, entrepreneurship, and a second industry placement.
  • Year 3: Completion of the program with a final industry placement to gain real-world experience.

Entry Requirements

  • SPM: Pass with a minimum of three (3) credits (Grade C).
  • O-Level: Minimum of three (3) credits (Grade C).
  • UEC: Pass with a minimum of three (3) credits (Grade B).
  • Culinary Arts related Certificate, SKM (MQF Level 3): Pass Level 3 in a related course and SPM with at least one (1) credit.
  • Polytechnic Certificates: Pass.
  • Other Qualifications: Deemed equivalent to SPM/O-Level by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency with a minimum overall average of 50%.
