Course Overview

The Diploma in Pharmacy at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur equips students with essential skills and knowledge in pharmaceutics, pharmacy practices, communication, healthcare management, and entrepreneurship. Graduates are prepared for roles such as pharmacy assistants, medical sales representatives, and quality control assistants.

Program Structure

Year 1: Courses include Anatomy and Physiology, General Chemistry, Microbiology, Introduction to Pharmaceutics, Professional Skills and Development, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, Liquid Dosage Forms, Dispensing Techniques and Communication, Medical Devices and Equipment, and a Community Attachment.
Year 2: Courses include Solid Dosage Forms, Semisolid Dosage Forms, Introduction to Pharmacy Management, Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy of Main Body Systems, Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice, Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding, Quality Control of Pharmaceutical Products, Antimicrobial Therapy, Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy of Special Body Systems, Vitamins, Herbal Supplements and Nutrition, and an Industrial Attachment.
6-Month Attachment: Hospital Pharmacy placement following Year 2.

Entry Requirements

SPM/O-Level: Three credits in Mathematics, one science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science), and one other subject.
STPM: Minimum Grade C (GP2.00) in any subject, plus SPM with three credits as specified above.
STAM: Minimum grade of Maqbul, plus SPM with three credits as specified above.
SKM Level 3: In a related field, plus SPM with one credit.
Certificate (Level 3, MQF): In a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.
UEC: Minimum grade B in three subjects, including Mathematics and one science subject.
Matriculation: CGPA of 2.0 and above with minimum Grade E in Mathematics, one science subject, and one other subject.
English Language Requirements: MUET Band 3, SPM English Language Grade B+, or equivalent qualifications.
