The Doctor of Philosophy in Hospitality and Tourism at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur is a research-intensive program designed to develop advanced skills in critical inquiry and scholarly research within the hospitality and tourism industry. Graduates are prepared for roles such as educators, researchers, analysts, consultants, managers, directors, and chief executive officers.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Completion of Research Methods (Compulsory Audit) and initiation of thesis research
- Year 2: Continued thesis research and data collection
- Year 3: Completion and defense of thesis
Entry Requirements
- A master's degree in the field or related fields accepted by the HEP Senate
- Other qualifications equivalent to a master's degree recognized by the Government of Malaysia
- Bachelor's degree with first-class honors (minimum CGPA of 3.67) in the field or related fields, subject to internal assessment and other HEP requirements
- Candidates without a related qualification or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP
- International students: Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent
