Course Overview
The Aircraft Maintenance License Program – EASA Part 66 at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (MIAT) offers specialized training in categories B1.1 (Aeroplanes Turbine), B1.2 (Aeroplanes Piston), B1.3 (Helicopter Turbine), and B1.4 (Helicopter Piston). This program equips students with essential skills in aircraft maintenance, preparing them for roles such as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Line Maintenance Technician, and Base Maintenance Engineer.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses in Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Fundamentals, and Electronic Fundamentals.
- Year 2: Advanced topics including Aircraft Aerodynamics, Structure and Systems, Propulsion, and specialized modules for each category (e.g., Turbine Aeroplane and Aerodynamics Structure and Systems for B1.1).
Entry Requirements
- Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with Grade C in English, Mathematics, and Science.
- Pass Diploma or Bachelor in technical/engineering from a recognized institution with at least a CGPA of 2.00.
- Pass Technical Professional Certificate in a related field with one year of work experience in aviation and pass SPM with at least one credit in any subject.
- Pass O-Level with at least Grade C in Mathematics, English, and Science.
- Pass International Baccalaureate with a minimum of 24 points.
- Pass A-Level with at least Grade C in Mathematics, English, and Science.
- Other qualifications equivalent to SPM with at least one credit in any subject recognized by the Malaysian Government.
- Mandatory: Pass a health examination by a government-recognized doctor (free from color blindness, asthma, and physical disability).
