The Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) in Computer System Security at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) equips students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in computing and security practices. This program emphasizes hands-on learning, preparing graduates for roles such as cybersecurity analyst, systems administrator, network security engineer, and information technology consultant.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses including Discrete Mathematics for IT, Principles of Computer Programming, and Introduction to Computing and Information Systems.
- Year 2: Intermediate topics such as Data Structure and Algorithm, Database Management Systems, and Advanced Networking.
- Year 3: Advanced subjects including Internet Programming, Network Security, and Secure Software Development.
- Year 4: Specialized courses like Advanced Network Security, Cyber Forensics, and completion of a Final Year Project, culminating in an industrial training experience.
Entry Requirements
- Pass in Matriculation or Foundation studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
- Pass in STPM with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.0) in any two subjects and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
- Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Information Systems with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
- Other relevant diplomas with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 may be admitted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment process and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
- International students must have completed at least 12 years of education and obtained a Higher Secondary School certificate equivalent to 'A' Level, with an IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent.
