The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Royal College of Medicine Perak (RCMP) is a comprehensive five-year program designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and clinical skills required for a successful medical career. Graduates are prepared for roles such as general practitioners, medical officers, and specialists in various medical fields.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundation I, Foundation II, Haematology/Immunology/Genetics/Oncology (HIGO), Intensive Clinical Experience (ICE), Cardiovascular, Respiratory
- Year 2: Gastrointestinal, Musculoskeletal, Genito-Urinary, SSM Project (Introduction to Research), Endocrine & Reproductive, Nervous System
- Year 3: Basic Clinical Course, Public Health, Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G), Orthopaedics, Psychiatry
- Year 4: Medicine in the Community, Psychiatry, Specialty I (ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Haematology, Rheumatology), Specialty II (Accident & Emergency, Anaesthesiology, Radiology, Forensic & Community Medicine), SSM Project (Advanced Research), Elective
- Year 5: Medicine (Cardiology, Neurology, Infectious Diseases), Surgery (including Neurosurgery & Plastic Surgery), Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G), Orthopaedics, Primary Care, Pre-Registration House Officer
Entry Requirements
- STPM: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics
- A-Level: Minimum grades of BBB in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics
- Matriculation/Foundation: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics
- Diploma in Health Sciences: Minimum CGPA of 3.5 and two years of study
- International Baccalaureate (IB): Minimum score of 30 points with grades of 5, 5, 5 in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics
- Australian Matriculation: Minimum ATAR of 80% with grades of B in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics
- Canadian Pre-University (CPU): Minimum average of 80% in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics
- Unified Examination Certificate (UEC): Minimum grades of B4 in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Additional Mathematics
- Other qualifications: Equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian government
- English Language Requirement: Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent
