Course Overview
The Master in Computer Science (Mix Mode) at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (MIIT) is designed to equip students with advanced skills in system and networking, as well as software engineering. This program prepares graduates for roles such as software engineer, system analyst, network engineer, IT manager, systems integration engineer, and lecturer.
Program Structure
- Semester 1: Advanced Computer Science, Algorithm Complexity Analysis, Innovation Technology and Entrepreneurship
- Semester 2: Research Methodology, plus specialization courses in either Software Engineering (Software Requirement and Design, Software Quality and Testing) or System Networking (Mobile Computing, Advanced Networking)
- Semester 3: Dissertation
Entry Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the UniKL Senate; OR
- A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.75, subject to a thorough rigorous assessment as determined by UniKL; OR
- A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Non-Computing fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, subject to appropriate prerequisite courses; OR
- Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
- English language proficiency: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 600 or its equivalent.
