The Master of Information Technology (By Research) at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (MIIT) offers an in-depth exploration of advanced IT concepts through rigorous research. This program equips students with critical thinking, technical proficiency, and innovative problem-solving skills, preparing graduates for roles such as research and development engineers, academicians, researchers, and consultants.
Program Structure
- Semester 1: Research Methodology
- Semester 2: Innovation Technology and Entrepreneurship
- Semesters 3–6: Thesis preparation
Entry Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 3.00, or equivalent, as accepted by the UniKL Senate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computing or related fields with a CGPA between 2.75 and 3.00, subject to rigorous internal assessment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computing or related fields with a CGPA between 2.50 and 2.75, with a minimum of five years of relevant working experience and subject to rigorous internal assessment.
- Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computing or related fields recognized by the Government of Malaysia, subject to appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the Higher Education Provider (HEP).
- For candidates without a qualification in related fields or relevant working experience, appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP are required, along with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and a minimum of five years of relevant working experience, subject to rigorous internal assessment.
- English language proficiency: Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.
