Course Overview

The Foundation in Engineering at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) is a comprehensive one-year program designed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, preparing them for successful progression into engineering degree programs.

Program Structure

Semester 1: Introductory Calculus and Analytic Geometry, Physics I, Physics Laboratory I, Foundation English, Chemistry I, Chemistry Laboratory I, Islamic Study/Moral Study*, Campus Life Skills*, Malaysian Culture for International Students
Semester 2: Calculus and Analytic Geometry, Physics II, Physics Laboratory II, Chemistry II, English for Academic Purposes, Computing Skills
Special Semester: Calculus and Analytic Geometry II, Physics III

*Applicable to Malaysian students only.

Entry Requirements

SPM: Pass with minimum credits (grade C) in 5 subjects, including Bahasa Inggeris, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, and Physics, and a pass in Chemistry (minimum grade E).
O-Level: Pass with minimum credits (grade C) in 5 subjects, including English, Mathematics, Physics or Additional Mathematics, and a pass in Chemistry (minimum grade E).
IGCSE: Pass with minimum credits (grade C) in 5 subjects, including English, Mathematics, Physics or Additional Mathematics, and a pass in Chemistry (minimum grade E).
UEC: Pass with a minimum of grade B in 3 subjects, including English, Mathematics/Advanced Mathematics, and Physics/any subject, and a pass in Chemistry (minimum grade E).
Others: Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia.

International students are required to meet specific English proficiency requirements, such as MUET Band 3, IELTS 5.0, or TOEFL 500 (paper-based) / 42 (internet-based).
