Course Overview

The Foundation in Management at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) is a one-year programme designed to equip students with fundamental knowledge in economics and management. This foundation prepares graduates for further studies in fields such as economics, business administration, international business, finance, and accounting.

Program Structure

Semester 1: Courses include Foundation English 1, English for Academic Purposes, Foundation Islamic Studies or Foundation in Moral Studies, Campus Life Skills, Malaysian Culture for International Students (for international students), Psychology of Thinking, and Personal Productivity with Information Technology.
Semester 2: Courses include Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Introduction to Business Mathematics, Introduction to Statistics, Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing, Introduction to Energy Management, and Principles of Accounting.
Special Semester: Courses include Introduction to Research Skills and Principles of Finance.

Entry Requirements

Pass SPM or equivalent with a minimum of credits (grade C) in 5 subjects, including Mathematics.
Pass O-Level from an institution recognized by the Government of Malaysia with a minimum credit (grade C) in 5 subjects.
Pass IGCSE from an institution recognized by the Government of Malaysia with a minimum credit (grade C) in 5 subjects.
Pass UEC with a minimum of grade B in 4 subjects.
Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia.

Career Opportunities

Upon completion, students are prepared to pursue bachelor's degrees in fields such as economics, business administration, international business, finance, and accounting.
