Course Overview
The Diploma in Nursing at the University of Cyberjaya (UoC) is a comprehensive three-year program designed to equip students with essential skills in patient care, clinical practice, and healthcare management. Graduates are prepared for diverse roles such as Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Researcher, and Nurse Practitioner, with opportunities in public hospitals, private medical centers, and community clinics.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Psychology, Sociology, Fundamentals of Nursing, and initial Clinical Practice sessions.
- Year 2: Intermediate studies covering specialized nursing fields such as Cardiovascular & Respiratory Nursing, Gastrointestinal Nursing, Hemopoietic and Oncology Nursing, along with continued Clinical Practice.
- Year 3: Advanced topics including Obstetric & Gynecology and Paediatric Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Management, and final Clinical Practice sessions.
Entry Requirements
- SPM or equivalent: Pass with five (5) credits, including Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics (Elementary, Additional, or Modern), one (1) credit in General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Applied Science, and two (2) other subjects. Pass in English is required.
- Assistant Nurse Certificate/Community Nurse Certificate: Pass SPM, registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board (MNB), possess a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) from MNB, and have a minimum of three (3) years clinical working experience.
- International Students: Minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent.
