Course Overview

The Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health at the University of Cyberjaya (UoC) equips students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in workplace safety, risk assessment, and emergency response planning. Graduates are prepared for roles such as Safety & Health Officers, Site Safety Supervisors, and Safety and Health Executives across various industries.

Program Structure

Year 1: Foundational courses including Occupational Safety & Health Law 1, Introduction to Occupational Safety, Introduction to Occupational Health, Emergency Response Plan, Fire Safety, Applied Physics, First Aid and Emergency Planning, Human Body Form and Function, Introduction to Occupational Hygiene, OSH Statistics, Occupational Disease and Control, Occupational Safety & Health Law 2, Machinery and Equipment Safety, and Industrial Chemical.
Year 2: Advanced topics such as Introduction to Ergonomics, Workplace Action Research Project 1, OSH Management System, Risk Identification and Assessment Control, Emergency Response Plan, Environmental Management System, OSH Information and Data Systems Management, Occupational Safety and Health Practice, Organisation Behaviour, Occupational Toxicology, Accident Investigation and Prevention, Construction Safety, Occupational Psychology Internship (6 months), Workplace Action Research Project II, and Practicum.

Entry Requirements

SPM: Pass SPM or equivalent with 3 credits, including Mathematics or one Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science), and any other subject.
STPM: Pass with Grade C (GPA 2.00) in one subject.
Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM): Pass with at least Maqbul grade.
UEC: Pass English or Bahasa Malaysia at SPM/equivalent and obtain a minimum Grade B in 3 UEC subjects, including Mathematics or one Science subject, and any other two subjects.
IGCSE (O-level): Pass with credits (Grade C) in Mathematics or one Science subject, and any other subject.
Other certificates (Level 3, MQF): Minimum CGPA 2.00.
Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia Tahap 3 (SKM Level 3) / Sijil Vokasional Malaysia in the relevant field: Programme is fully accredited by MQA/recognised by the Malaysian government, progression into a related field of study, and undergoes a relevant bridging programme provided by the University.
English Proficiency (For International Students Only): MUET Band 3 or CEFR (High B1).
