The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics by Research at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is a rigorous program designed to cultivate advanced research skills and deep theoretical knowledge in physics. Program Structure

Year 1: Completion of compulsory university courses and research methodology training.
Year 2: Development and presentation of research proposals; commencement of independent research.
Year 3: Continuation of research activities; participation in seminars and conferences; preparation of research findings for publication.
Year 4: Finalization of research; thesis writing and submission; defense of thesis through viva voce examination.

Entry Requirements

A Master’s Degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or any other institution of higher learning recognized by the Senate.
Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree and relevant experience recognized by the Senate.
Candidates currently registered in a Master’s Degree program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, approved by the Graduate Studies Committee and the Senate.
