The Master of Cyber Security – Open Distance Learning (ODL) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) equips students with advanced skills in information security governance, digital forensics, and penetration testing, preparing graduates for roles such as Security Analyst, Digital Forensics Expert, and Chief Information Security Officer.
Program Structure
- Semester 1: Core courses including Research Methodology and Information Security Governance and Risk Management
- Semester 2: Advanced topics such as Digital Forensics, Cloud Computing Security, and elective courses
- Semester 3: Master Project I and II, focusing on practical applications and research in cyber security
Entry Requirements
- A recognized Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00 or equivalent
- International applicants must meet English language proficiency requirements: IELTS band 6, TOEFL score 550, or CEFR B2
- Candidates from English-speaking countries are exempted from UTM's English language requirements
- Applicants from non-Computer Science or IT backgrounds are required to complete additional courses in Cryptography and Computer Security
