Course Overview
The Master of Engineering (Transportation) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) provides an in-depth understanding of transportation and highway systems, equipping graduates with skills in analysis, design, and management. This program prepares students for roles such as transportation engineer, highway designer, and traffic planner.
Program Structure
- Core Courses (18 credits): Research Methodology, Highway & Infrastructure Design, Advanced Road Material, Transport Planning, Pavement Design and Construction, Traffic Management & Analysis
- Elective Courses (6 credits): Options include Public Transport System, Airport Planning and Design, Transport and Environmental Planning, Transport Safety, Disaster Management for Transportation Network, Pavement Management System, GIS for Civil Engineers
- Free Elective Course (3 credits): Choose one from any subjects offered by other programs, school, or from the above elective subjects
- Master Project (10 credits): Master Project 1 and Master Project 2
Entry Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree with good honours in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or an equivalent qualification
- Applicants with a lower degree grade may be considered if they have sufficient working experience in the field
- International applicants must provide evidence of English language proficiency, such as a minimum score of 550 in TOEFL or a minimum overall band score of 6.0 in IELTS
