Course Overview
The Master of Philosophy in Polymer Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) offers an in-depth research-focused program that equips students with advanced knowledge and skills in polymer science and engineering. Graduates are prepared for roles such as materials scientist, research scientist, and materials engineer.
Program Structure
- Duration: Minimum of 3 semesters (1.5 years) to a maximum of 8 semesters (4 years).
- Mode: Full-time and part-time options available.
- Assessment: Based on progress reports, supervisor evaluations, research proposals, and a viva voce examination.
Entry Requirements
- Academic Qualification: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or technology with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent from UTM or other recognized institutions. Candidates with a CGPA below 3.0 may be considered with a minimum of one year of relevant working experience.
- Prerequisite Courses: Candidates without a background in polymer-related degrees may be required to take prerequisite courses as determined by the faculty.
- Language Proficiency: For international candidates, an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent is required.
