Course Overview
The Master of Science (Biomedical Engineering) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) equips students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in biomedical measurement techniques, diagnostic and therapeutic technology, and medical informatics. Graduates are prepared for roles such as biomedical engineer, clinical engineer, and research scientist in the biomedical field.
Program Structure
- Semester 1: Core courses including Biomedical Measurement Technique, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technology, Advanced Biomedical Engineering, Research Methodology, and an elective course.
- Semester 2: Core courses such as Medical Informatics and Biomechanics, additional elective courses, and commencement of the Master's Project (Part 1).
- Semester 3: Completion of elective courses and Master's Project (Part 2).
Entry Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer), Science (Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Medical and Health), Medical, or other related disciplines from UTM or other recognized institutions with a CGPA ≥ 2.50. Candidates with a CGPA < 2.50 may be considered with relevant work experience.
- For international students: Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.
