The Master of Science in Physics at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is a mixed-mode program that combines advanced coursework with research, equipping students with expertise in areas such as instrumentation physics, nuclear and radiation physics, materials physics, and optical physics. Graduates are prepared for roles including research officers, science officers, physics educators, quality control officers, industrial materials scientists, and material testing and analysis experts.
Program Structure
- Semester 1: Core courses in Quantum Mechanics and Semiconducting Bulk Materials, an elective course, a university compulsory subject, and a seminar.
- Semester 2: Core course in Electrodynamics, an elective course, Research Methodology, and a seminar.
- Semester 3: Dissertation focusing on specialized research areas.
Entry Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree with a minimum CPA of 3.0 from UTM or other recognized institutions.
- For CPA between 2.70 and 3.00: 2 years of relevant experience.
- For CPA between 2.50 and 2.70: 4 years of relevant experience.
- For CPA between 2.30 and 2.50: 6 years of relevant experience.
- International applicants must meet English language proficiency requirements: TOEFL (iBT) score of 60 and above, or IELTS band score of 6.0 and above.
